Commissions

Here’s how a custom work request works. Contact me at Valerie@valerielorimer.com and let me know what you’re interested in commissioning. If you’ve seen something on my website that you like, and are interested in a similar work at a custom size, let me know. We can discuss colors, whether you’d like the custom art on paper or artist panel, and also whether you’d prefer to have me frame your piece or not.

I will send you a preliminary pencil sketch first, so that I know you’re happy with the concept before I proceed. Pricing for commission work varies depending on size and usually runs a little more than prices you see on my site since I’m creating a custom piece just for you.

Shipping costs are paid for by the buyer. When the piece is completed, I will send you a final invoice via email. If you’d like to charge a credit card, I’m happy to take care of that via phone with you. Otherwise, you can pay through Paypal, send me a check or money order, before I mail the commission piece. I will wait for your check to clear before shipping the piece to you. I recommend also purchasing mailing insurance.

If you would like to save on shipping costs, I recommend that it be shipped unframed, and you take it to your local framer to be framed. This way, the package is lighter, and you pay less for shipping.
